Irrfan Khan to play pivotal role in Haider

After some successful ventures with Vishal Bhardwaj, Irrfan who has constantly expressed his desire to work with the filmmaker again, has bagged a pivotal role in Vishal’s Shakespearean trilogy. Irrfan is said to play the role of a spirit in Vishal’s Haider, the Indian screen adaptation of ‘Hamlet’.

Irrfan, who has previously been a part of the trilogy in Maqbool (the adaptation of ‘Macbeth’) as the lead, will be seen in the role of Shahid’s assassinated father who provokes him to avenge his death. Though it will be a guest appearance, the role of the slain king in Hamlet is considered to be the turning point in the plot. The actor will start shooting for the same in the Kashmir valley by the end of this month.

Haider also stars Shraddha Kapoor and Tabu and is being co-produced by UTV, Vishal Bhardwaj and Shahid Kapoor.
