Attempt to sabotage renovation tender of Padmatheertham

NEW DELHI: The preliminary report of the amicus curiae appointed by the Supreme Court harshly criticized the functioning of the Padmanabhaswamy Temple.

The main allegation is that there was an attempt to sabotage the renovation tender of the Padmatheertham lying in a pathetic state. Supreme Court’s order to renovate the pond was torn to pieces.

An amount of Rs 29 lakhs was first fixed as the tender amount for the renovation of the pond and later raised up to Rs 1.19 crores. The interim report of amicus curiae Gopal Subramanyam said the amount was increased for sabotaging the tender.
